Fragrance Topic: SO...? Superstar

Have you ever wanted to be in a band or vocal group and do not have the confidence?

You might sing in the shower or in the mirror with a hairbrush, but

even if you are a ‘Hairbrush Diva’, you wouldn’t dare let anyone else hear!?!?

Here are 5 things you need to do to bring out the ‘Superstar’ in you…

To get started

1. Pick a song you like, find the lyrics (and instrumental/karaoke version if you can), and sing-a-long.

Practicing

2. Take a deep breathe whenever you need to and pronounce each word clearly.

Record yourself.

3. Listen to your voice. Be your own judge. You can use your phone or your computer to record your voice.

Get a song by your favourite artist, listen to the way they sing slow or uptempo songs and copy.

Get an opinion.

4. Once you have practised, ask someone to listen to you like a friend, family member or music teacher. Ask them to tell you what they think and most importantly, what you can do to get better.

Join a choir.

5. The best way to improve is to sing with people who can and like to sing.

Practising in a group will help you learn new songs and ways of singing.

If singing is your passion, look for a singing/vocal tutor to help with your breathing, control and quality of voice.

Remember: Practice makes perfect.
