There’s nothing worse than being in the presence of someone who reeks of perfume. When they spray so much on just to ensure you can smell that they are wearing a fragrance. It’s so unnecessary and usually just too much!!! What you need to do is apply the right amount to turn heads and make talking to you a So…? experience to remember……

Below are three tips to get you on your way to being scentsational:

1. Hold the bottle at a right angle and point the pump to the left side of your neck and spray once. Repeat on the right side of your neck, between your breasts, around the ankles, the sides of your neck, and behind your knees as these are your pulse points.

2. People with dry skin tend to need more and so in this case you can re-apply small amounts to some or all of those areas throughout the day. For oily skin do the opposite and apply sparingly and only one more time if necessary for one day

3. Always apply and allow to dry before you put your jewellery on. Leave to dry and then accessorize. Fragrances contain chemicals that could cause leather, plastic, gold or silver to react. So be extra careful to ensure you get the best out of your scent and everything to go with it!!

Now all you need to do is find the right one for you. Read more » )

Are your exams looming? GCSE's, A Levels, GNVQ's...... Don’t panic just yet! Although there is no easy way to ensure success, preparation is key in helping you to get ready for your exams! The tips below will help you organise your time and resources to ensure that you are well equipped – long before the day of your exam.

• First of all, find out the date and time of your exam. Then work backwards from there and plan exactly what you need to do by then.

• Find out the type of questions you are going to asked in your exam (multiple choice/essay answers etc) and ask your teacher what material you need to cover.

• Try to get hold of some past exam papers to work through, as they will also help you get an idea of the type of questions you will be asked.

Revision planning

• Make a revision timetable.

• Here you can prioritise your subjects, set targets for yourself and track your progress.

• Plan breaks into your timetable and try not to do too much at once; if your schedule is realistic you are more likely to stick to it!

• Find a good place to revise – make sure that it is tidy, quiet and somewhere you won’t be disturbed. When you start to revise; make notes and test yourself by writing out some questions and answers to see how much you are remembering.

• You could even record some of... ( Read more » )

Fragrance Topic: SO...? Superstar

Have you ever wanted to be in a band or vocal group and do not have the confidence?

You might sing in the shower or in the mirror with a hairbrush, but

even if you are a ‘Hairbrush Diva’, you wouldn’t dare let anyone else hear!?!?

Here are 5 things you need to do to bring out the ‘Superstar’ in you…

To get started

1. Pick a song you like, find the lyrics (and instrumental/karaoke version if you can), and sing-a-long.

Practicing

2. Take a deep breathe whenever you need to and pronounce each word clearly.

Record yourself.

3. Listen to your voice. Be your own judge. You can use your phone or your computer to record your voice.

Get a song by your favourite artist, listen to the way they sing slow or uptempo songs and copy.

Get an opinion.

4. Once you have practised, ask someone to listen to you like a friend, family member or music teacher. Ask them to tell you what they think and most importantly, what you can do to get better.

Join a choir.

5. The best way to improve is to sing with people who can and like to sing.

Practising in a group will help you learn new songs and ways of singing.

If singing is your passion, look for a singing/vocal tutor to help with your breathing, control and quality of voice.

Remember: Practice makes perfect.

Do you only know the people in your class? Do you wish you knew lots of people?

If you have watched a teen movie, you almost always find a story with a popular crowd. Most times, you will come across the ‘mean girl’ who makes everyone’s life hell, but everyone wants to be her friend.

In real life, you don’t have to be mean to be popular.

If you want more people to know your name, here is HOW…

1. Join lots of clubs. If you are good at something or want to try something new, join the club. You will meet new people and even people who are in different peer groups (The year above or below)

Some clubs are not considered ‘cool’, but when you are involved in a few different ones, it won’t matter.

2. Don’t be afraid to shine. If you are talented, show your talents but do not boast about your ‘greatness’

Being good at something gets you noticed and allows more people to know who you are.

3. Be nice to everyone. Acknowledge people, even if you don’t know their name. Learn names.

When you are a nice person, people will not think twice about speaking to you.

4. Help people whenever you can. This can be advice or a physical task.

People remember when you helped them out and are likely to remember you.

5. Introduce people to other people. i.e. if your friend wants to start... ( Read more » )

I have been invited to the movies by my secret crush OMG! What do I wear?

First, it’s the movies so...? you don’t have to worry about spinach between your teeth.

Just take a deep breath and relax.

If you plan on eating popcorn or having a soft drink during the movie, light colours are a definite ‘no no’. Especially for scary movies that have those jumpy moments or that person who accidently bumps into you on their way through the aisle.

If you plan on wearing make-up, keep it simple. There is nothing worse than the lights coming on and him seeing mascara running or smeared lip stick.

Apart from that, just worry about what you are going to say about the movie, when he asks you what you thought of the film. If you are stunned by his presence and can’t speak, practice saying ‘it was good, you?’.

Clothes: Fitted black top, chunky jewellery, denim jeans and flip flops.

Make-up: A little bit of mascara and lip gloss will go a long way
